Perched on a rocky promontory, this castle of the Jacques-Coeur Trail overhangs the Arnon gorges. Built between the 12th and the 15th century, this feudal fortress features a series of towers encircled at the top by wooden hourds (galleries). At the foot of Culan castle, a medieval garden and a rose garden are the perfect place a stroll.
The 18th-century Château de Nohant in the charming village of Nohant near Nohant-Vic is where George Sand, the famous French author of The Devil's Pool, spent her childhood and various key moments of her life.
